Unsure if a product in your home, property or workplace contains asbestos?
The only way to find out is to get the material analysed in a laboratory for asbestos, a visual inspection is only an assumption and does not conclude with any factual data.
Specialised Services can visit your location and conduct an asbestos test, this involves one of our friendly staff extracting a sample (usually the size of a 5c coin) and taking the sample to the lab for analysis. Upon laboratory analysis you will be provided with a written report highlighting whether the sample does or doesn't contain asbestos and if so, which type.
There are three (3) types of asbestos:
Chrysotile is the most used type of asbestos. It can be identified roofs, ceilings, walls, and floors buildings. Manufactures also used chrysotile in vehicle brake linings, gaskets, seals, and insulation for pipes, ducts, and appliances.
Amosite was most frequently used in cement sheets and pipe insulation. It can be found in insulating board, ceiling tiles and thermal insulation products.
Crocidolite was commonly used to insulate steam engines. It was also used in some spray-on coatings, pipe insulation, plastics, and cement products.
